Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's children was born in Woodland Hills in 1956. Her father taught school while her mother was a housewife. Her older brothers are: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick began singing and dancing at an early age and frequently performed plays with puppets for the kids in her community. When she was just 6, McCormick won at the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley competition. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her to ask if the actress would be interested in a career in show business. McCormick was commissioned to perform in her debut major part in 1964, in the tv spot for Mattels latest doll Baby Pattaburp. That same year, she starred in another television commercial for the doll Chatty Cathy. The following year, McCormick was chosen by La Jolla Playhouse to play the part of the character Wind It up and It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was in the company of over 1200 other kids to play the oldest towheaded girl in The Brady Bunch. The sitcom starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed who were newlyweds with a blended-family. The show lasted five years. McCormick wrote in her book Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice Published in 2008, McCormick told of how in the fifth season of the TV show, she was close to losing her virginity with her twin brother Barry Williams. He was 19 years old. She was 16. The woman said it might have been possible, but it was never the best timing.
